To get success in any competitive exam , subject selection for the exam is the first step towards the success.if subjects are chosen wisely then 50% work is done. There are two very important points to take care while selecting the subjects - first is selecting the known or familiar subject and second is the selection of the subject with less syllabus.

You should choose the subjects which has been part of your school or college curriculum , this is the main funda of selecting the subjects. Other than this, avoid subjects which takes time to analyse or calculate. for example , mathematics is such a subject which takes a lot of time on calculations so avoid this subject. No matter how intelligent your are or how brilliant student you have been in mathematics subject but the fact is you can not find the answer untill you analyse or use calculation  and once you dive into the calculation then only come out after having the answer which consumes a lot of time .

Syllabus is the other important factor.Carefully see the topics which are the part of the subject syllabus.Select the subject with less topics. Believe me, syllabus or subject topics plays a very important role in competitive exams.Candidates who select subjects with wide syllabus , never hold the control on the subject inspite of studying hard and giving enough time.

Hello, no one can guide you in this regard. Subject selection depends on our interest and educational background. If someone is from science background then he or she will be more comfortable to choose science subjects and vice versa. If you read the documents where these subjects are mentioned then scroll down the pdf , the complete syllabus and topics are given.

Read the topics carefully and i am sure you will be able to choose the subjects which best fits to you. My suggestion is , do not listen to others while selecting the subjects because you know better it than others.
